I’m a fitness mom, I proclaim it loud and proud. My son knows I’m a runner, enjoy Zumba and that I’m an all around athlete- he even goes with me to the gym and watches me teach and workout.

So, aside from jewelry, what would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift for me? A set of weights and gloves. Why? Because I do a lot of cardio and it is time to step up my strength training. I want muscles! Adding weights will help me get definition and I can’t wait for the results!

Yes, I said results because see that weight set and gloves above? My Mother’s Day gift courtesy of Walmart. And so practical and affordable! The 40 pound weight set is only $19.99 and the gloves were $8.00.

A great Mother’s Day gift for the fitness mom in your life. I plan on posting photos of my new body in a couple of months…look out!

Disclosure: I’m a Walmart mom and received compensation and/or product for this post but as usual all opinions are my own.

I admit it, I really enjoy sweet and salty snacks. Since I know this about myself I keep snacks out of my house with the exception of snacks for my son. I do however need to snack between meals – grazing is the best way to keep hunger at bay and my metabolism revved up. [...]

Zumba, Paleo and weight loss

Fitness

I’ve been a licensed Zumba instructor since June of last year. When I’m taking Zumba classes, inevitably someone asks me if I am an instructor. I sheepishly admit I am but don’t teach. Well this week that all changed! I taught my first class last night and was all in! Preparation? Three and a half [...]
