Yesterday I hit the road with my gal pals Lorraine, her sister Nicole and Yvette for the most magical place in the world – Walt Disney World!!!! And yes, I wore my mouse ears for the entire 8 hour road trip from Atlanta to Orlando! I smiled from ear to ear when we arrived and was simply giddy with excitement! Last night we had a fabulous dinner at Sanna restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (where we are staying!) and ate a wonderful Indian influenced meal. I’ll write another post about the fabulous food here at Disney.
After a fitful night of sleep (I’m so excited and I don’t want to miss one of my early morning adventures) I got up to attend the Tweet Up/Meet Up at Epcot. This morning I joined 80 other women (and a few men) that saw the announcement on the Disney Parks Blog for the Princess Half-Marathon Meet-Up. This special event was hosted by world renowned runner, Jeff Galloway (famous for the run/walk method), Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton, elite runner and two time winner of the Disney Half-Marathon and Betty Wong, Editor in Chief of Fitness magazine. We were led in a 2 mile run around Epcot and others did run/walk with Jeff Galloway. I have to tell you, this Princess was not glistening but SWEATING. I ran 9 minute miles and pushed it. I also got a few pictures….

My good friend Colleen and I before the run.
I had to stop and say hello to Snow White – and catch a quick breather!
Suzy Favor Hamilton, 3 time Olympian, mom of two and all around spirited gal! She hugged me despite the sweat dripping down my face!
All smiles after breakfast and the sweat has dried!
After a quick healthy lunch back at the hotel (falafel, couscous and smart water – I’m carb loading!),
it was off to the Expo to pick up our race numbers. Somehow I accidently ended up in the last corral so I showed proof of time and was moved up to Corral B! It kinda messed up my pretty personalized race bib but it is still BEAUTIFUL!
On Sunday since it is my birthday I plan on running in BEAST MODE! I owe it to myself to really try! So let’s get it!
I may run so fast that I lose my glass running shoe
NO NEVER THAT!
More later, I’m off to a pasta party and tomorrow I’m running the Tangled 5K!
Disclosure: Disney has provided me accommodations, meals and access to RunDisney events but all opinions are my own.

I am so excited for you all. Not a runner myself, but reading about your and Wifey’s marathon adventures is much.
Very cool! I ran the Princess Half last year, and it was such a blast!! I love your shoe bling! Was that only available at the Expo?? Can’t wait to hear about the race!! Congratulations!
