As I prepare for the Marine Corps Marathon I am by default preparing for the Rock n Roll Savannah 1/2 marathon. The MCM is on October 28th anad Savannah is on November 4th. Let that marinate for a moment….I’m running a full on Sunday and a 1/2 marathon the following Saturday. But honestly, I am totally confident about my ability to do both. 13.1 is a training run for me so I think it will be a great recovery run after the marathon. And honestly, if I’m not feeling one hundred percent, I’ll just walk more on the course.
I ran the inaugural race last year and it was a fast, flat course that I thoroughly enjoyed. This time around not only will I be with my running bestie Lorraine (who is also running a giveaway) but I’m meeting up with college friends who are walking and running the 1/2 and full respectively. And as usual I am happy about the bling!

I liked the R&R Savannah 1/2 on Facebook and this will be half-marathon #5…whoo hoo!
2nd comment for responding to the blog…again, R&R Savannah is half marathon number #5 and will be my 2nd R&R Half Marathon…so this would be an excellent chance to get my medal for doing 2 R&R halfs this calendar year.
If I were to win, it would be my 17th half marathon. This one would follow a double that I am doing the weekend before. My goal is a half in each state before I croak!

This will be my first 1/2 marathon. I missed the BGR in Atlanta so this would be ideal for me!
I dreamed of running Savannah after attending the expo with my last year. This would be my 2 half if I won. Last one was in January in Disney. I’ve been afraid to do another since then…it was hard. But my oldest son is in Savannah. He wasn’t there to see me finish my first half. I’d love to have him there for the second since it falls right around his birthday. As I type this, I’m wondering if we could run it together…hmmm

I would LOVE to win the entry for the Savannah Rock-n-Roll 1/2, which would be my 6th 1/2 marathon! I’ve always wanted to run in a ‘Rock-n-Roll’ series race and I have only been to Savannah once and feel that it is such a beautiful city! THis would also be my 2nd 1/2 marathon in the state of GA. I also would LOVE to see my namesake, Janelle Alexander finish her 1st Full Marathon on the same day, seeing that I have been honored to witness her amazing weight loss journey thus far!!! Fun fact: I too am running the MCM and live in Savannah so I’d love to do the Rock and Roll the weekend after! It will be 1/2 number 4… I did it last year and had tummy troubles so I’d love to see what I can do without that!

2nd Half… I ran Savannah last year
This will be my first!!!! The only other race I have done was a 5K in May. Still haven’t gotten the courage to sign up but did 8 miles last Saturday and planning to do 9 this Saturday!
