Weight Up

Weight up! Wait up! Hold up! Yes, I am here to let you know that yes, my weight is up! I got on the scale on Monday and I nearly had a coronary but thanks to my aerobic training that did not happen! My trusty scale shouted at me – 181 pounds! And I did what any normal person would do. I got off and reset it. I got back on again. Same number. So,  I got off and reset it. Got back on. Same number.

My mind says that it is impossible for me to gain that much weight in less than a week and although I’m sure a good portion of it is water weight I am still floored. I refuse to give in to the temptation and just ignore the number and hope it magically goes away. So yesterday, I put on my big girl pants and decided it was time to seek out help. And I took a visit to see my old friend Jenny, as in Jenny Craig.

Jenny has been good to me in the past. As a matter of fact, Jenny helped me lose my first 25-30 pounds during my weight loss journey and I know that the program works. I joined with the current special – lose 20 pounds for $20 and I have nine weeks to do it. I have a more aggressive goal…….

This week I am starting Operation Bikini in preparation for the Latin Music Miami Beach 1/2 marathon on December 11. Lorraine and I are running this race together and Operation Bikini is a way for us to motivate ourself to be beach ready by the marathon.  Will I be in a bikini on December 11th? That is still to be seen but I will be lighter and more toned by the time the race comes around!

To keep things transparent I am sharing my numbers with you:

Height: 5.6

Weight: 181.7

Bust: 39

Waist 32.5

Abs: 37.5

Hips: 44.25

Yes, I’m back in the realm of being a heavy weight. But not for much longer. And I share this with you because I need your encouragement and also to show that we ALL fall down but can certainly get up. And right now, I’m on the path to that bikini!

Today I’ve run 4 miles and this evening I plan on doing a Zumba toning workout. Watch me shrink!!!

Way to take control, Renee! I definitely know that get on, get off, reset, get on, . . . routine! I have been there and often! This health and fitness thing is truly a journey. I look forward to following your journey and cheering for you along the way as I continue to embark on mine!

Kudos to you for your success thus far! You’ll be in that bikini before you know it (I’m telling myself the same thing!).

Renee, I saw you at Blogalicious and you are far from a heavyweight (no matter what that scale says). You are “tight” in all the right places and I know you have muscle. I do still support your exercise regimen and it encourages me to “get on the ball”. Good luck with Jenny and the marathon!

I know how you feel, Renee. My weight is up, too, and I’m not happy about it. But like you, I’m working to get that number down! Thanks for always keeping it real and being a HUGE inspiration!! Would love to collaborate with you on fitness stuff.

Girl, I am right there with you! My stats are quite close, including weight and height! Do your thing! I’m sending you lots of virtual support (and taking a little inspiration for myself). I hate that I’m not joining you and Lo in Miami! I need to actually train and next year, it’s on! Arriba!
